Ericsson Wins US$2 Bln Deal from India's Bharti Airtel

Ericsson announced on July 18, 2007 that it has won a US$2 billion order from Bharti Airtel, whereby Ericsson will help the Indian telecom expand its GSM network and extend its reach into rural regions. Under the terms of the two-year contract, Ericsson will design, plan, deploy, and manage Bharti Airtel's GSM network across 15 telecom circles in India as well as the company's pan-India prepaid platform across all 23 zones.
